Join Lorah Gerald, Kundalini yoga instructor, and certified trauma-informed yoga therapy instructor for an in-person class at Innergistic on February 24th, 4-5 pm,
Learn these mindfulness practices to soothe the nervous system and reduce the negative effects brought about by the sympathetic nervous system when it's constantly being activated. This constant overstimulation can cause anxiety, tension, fatigue, depression, and other mental and physical health issues. Mindfulness practices not only calm but boost and activate the parasympathetic nervous system by slowing down our heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and sweating. They can also boost the immune system.
We become what we do repeatedly. Practicing mindfulness has been shown to bring us into a more relaxed and regulated state. Our goal is to have a calm and neutral mind so we can better handle the daily stressors and be more aware.
In this class, we will learn a mantra and mudra that was clinically proven to reduce stress, improve memory and cognitive ability. Quote from The Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation. "the various parts of this kriya are each vital to the whole, and recommends practicing it in the traditional way to fully reap the benefits of the exercise." https://alzheimersprevention.org/research/kirtan-kriya-yoga-exercise/
I will also show everyone how to do neurographic art. This fun and calming process allows our inner artist and true self to flow. You will get to create your own piece of art.
Markers and paper will be supplied.
At the end of the class, you will have tools to help you maintain a more regulated nervous system and further your creativity.
Due to limited class size, RSVP is required and pre-payment. Call Innergistic 918-455-0102 to reserve your space. Class is $45 and includes all supplies needed. As a way to help you get more mindfulness tools, everyone who attends class will also get access to my weekly Zoom classes every Wednesday and Sunday at 11 am for a whole month.
