Lorah Gerald is a certified trauma informed yoga instructor. Kundalini yoga and Neurographic art are both mindfulness practices. We practice mindfulness to soothe the nervous system, become more aware and reduce the negative effects brought about by the sympathetic nervous system when it's constantly being activated. Overstimulation can cause anxiety, tension, fatigue, depression, and other mental and physical health issues. Mindfulness practices not only calm but boost and activate the parasympathetic nervous system by slowing down our heart rate, breathing rate, blood pressure, and sweating. We become what we do repeatedly. Practicing mindfulness has been shown to bring us into a more relaxed and regulated state. Our goal is to have a calm and neutral mind so we can better handle the daily stressor and be prepared for when trauma happens. By calming the mind, we can tap into our highest potential.

In this class, we will do a 45-minute kundalini yoga routine and learn how to do neurographic art. We will have time to share and come together in community. You will need to wear something comfortable and have a mat to do yoga on. I will supply the markers and paper for the project.
